Sassy, spunky, fitness junkie. Andrea Cladis is a proud Greek-American and grammar nerd who has been working as a passionate personal trainer and group exercise instructor for the past seven years. Andrea loves to get people dancing, sweating, smiling, and laughing all the way through their workout! Andrea’s interest in fitness developed from her childhood years as a ballet and hip-hop dancer and her college years as a multi-sport athlete specializing in swimming, softball, and tennis. After college she was seeking a way to stay active and get involved with her local community to promote health and wellness. Plus, as a consummate front row diva in every group exercise class she participated in, becoming an instructor was a natural fit!
She is a certified ACE (American Council on Exercise) group fitness professional and also holds licensures and certifications in Zumba, Spin, Kickboxing, PiYo, Barre, Turbokick, and H.I.T.T. Andrea currently teaches classes at several different locations in Geneva, Batavia, and St. Charles.
In addition to fitness endeavors, Andrea also worked full-time as a sarcastic, but hard core and gobsmacking awesome high school English teacher. This past year she made the decision to move on from high school teaching to pursue a full-time career in writing. At present, she maintains her own freelance writing business, Tanager Writing, and is working towards a terminal graduate degree in writing. A fun fact about Andrea?! She used to work for the Onion where she relished having the opportunity to put her sardonic humor to good use!
Andrea has lived in Geneva most of her life and regularly competes in marathons, triathlons, and races where mud and/or chocolate are featured as the main event. She loves Jesus, her obnoxious Greek family, the trendiness of kale, in that order, and the sonorous sounds of vocal acoustics in the shower. Her book about faith and fitness will be released in the fall of 2017. You can contact her anytime; she’d love to hear from you! (email@example.com)
