Peripheral Induction

Alone. This. Once.

                  Seen. Felt. Touched.

As a racehorse wears blinders she dismisses circumventing allure,

Embodied in innocence, self-respect, a world she deems pure.

Locked memory absent peripheral cause –

Is this sight? Is this vision? Does she take pause?

Ahead she sees vibrancy in faded dreams of shallow cost,

Out of reach, she stumbles, she reaches, all courage lost.healing 3

Promising and Placating

Laughing and Lunging

Doubting and Deceiving

Conniving and Controlling

Caving in and breaking down, dark shadows, cryptic, ever abound.

Red and black the colors haunt,

Force and fright forever taunt.

Blinders down, there’s white around,

Crimson darkness, no other is found.

Caving in and breaking down, dark shadows, cryptic, ever abound.

Moving lips, sounds of silence.

Hushed chatter, breaths of compliance.

Caving in and breaking down, dark shadows, cryptic, ever abound.

Her eyes now clear, salty tears speckle soft, clean skin.

Weary heart in want of grace requesting forgiveness in sin.

Induction of surrounding sight whelms the face of force and fright

Smooth silver cloaks the crimson darkness and upstages furloughed fear.

Gently held, coursing pains do cease – she hums away tears.

She smiles, she cries, now with opened eyes, for there’s peace, there’s mercy here.
